Meeting Recaps, Presentations

This week’s Refresh Jonesboro meeting was presented by Michael Quessenberry, aka @bbqberry, and was focused around a piece of opensource software from Google called Sketchup. It is a free 3D modeling software which was released to the public around 4 years ago and has since built a very large following, including developers of complimentary software and plugins.

Michael’s been using Sketchup for over 3 years now and it was obvious that he’s comfortable with the software. Starting with the basic functions such as drawing a cube or sphere, he quickly walked us through how he recently built a 3D model of the Jonesboro Coworking space (see photos below).

The software seems to be very intuitive and we even had several attendees  who went home, downloaded the software and began creating their own 3D models that night. Great job Michael! We can’t wait for your next presentation.
